Visiting the meeting house

Meetings for worship are held at Cirencester meeting house twice a week but there are also a number of other meetings throughout the week that you might find of interest.

Meetings for worship

Sundays: 10:30 - 11:30 (or 11:15 before local meeting)

Thursdays: 10:30 - 11:00

Other meetings and openings

Singing Together is held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month at 2:15pm

A number of the meeting's members meet for Quilting and Embroidery on Thursdays from 1pm

The meeting house garden is open on Thursday afternoons for anyone wishing to find a place for quiet and reflection.

A special meeting for worship is held every month by the Cirencester Meeting at the gates of RAF Fairford.  This month's meeting will be held on 24th October between 2:00pm and 3:00pm.  Please don't bring placards or posters. Please do bring tea, biscuits/cake, brollies and something to sit on.

This month Area Meeting will be on 8th October at Nailsworth Friends Meeting House at 7:00 pm.

Special Openings

The Meeting House is annually opened to the public for Heritage Open Day, which, last year, was held on 13th and 14th September.  We had about 170 visitors who enjoyed the peaceful garden, and received Quaker oats flapjack, tea and coffee in the coffee room, as well as being shown around the rest of the Meeting House.  Young Lizzie also did her best to welcome new visitors.

Food for thought:  Jane Mace will be talking about her experience in the EAPPI programme on October 27th after Meeting for Worship

If you would like to visit the meeting house at other times please contact the warden to arrange a suitable time.

Where is the Meeting House?

The meeting house is located in Thomas Street, a quiet residential street in Cirencester.  The nearest public car parks are located on Dugdale Road (next to the Abbey Grounds Park) and Tetbury Road (The Old Station Car Park).  Buses to Cirencester stop in the Market Place and provide access to the railway station at Kemble.
